Julianne Hough Apologizes for Blackface Costume at Party - People Magazine

Julianne Hough has apologized for dressing up in blackface at a Halloween party Friday night.

The 25-year-old triggered controversy after she showed up at the Beverly Hills bash as "Crazy Eyes," a character played by Uzo Aduba in the hit Netflix drama Orange Is the New Black.

Hough covered her face in dark makeup, styled her hair like the character's knotted 'do and wore an orange jumpsuit and prison ID splashed with the words "Crazy Eyes."

"I am a huge fan of the show Orange Is the New Black, actress Uzo Aduba, and the character she has created," Hough Tweeted.

"It certainly was never my intention to be disrespectful or demeaning to anyone in any way. I realize my costume hurt and offended people and I truly apologize."
