The Miss Inland California Scholarship Pageant recently crowned eight new titleholders who will serve the communities of Inland California for the ensuing year.


The pageant is conducted annually by Southwest California Pageants and is open to girls and unmarried women from 3 to 21 years of age, who reside in Riverside and San Bernardino counties. This year’s pageant was held at historic Civic Center Theatre in Corona on Saturday, Oct 5.Jessica Croupe, of Murrieta, was crowned Miss Inland California. Joining her on the 2014 Inland California Court: Teen Miss Jade Kurtz, of Temecula; Jr. Teen Miss Madisen Fragosa, of Riverside; and Pre-Teen Miss Robynne French, of Temecula.


The young women who were selected bring strong character and commitment to their new titles. Croupe, an honor roll senior at Murrieta Valley High school, is also a multi-year member of the award-winning MVHS dance team in addition to taking AP and IB courses in school. Kurtz, a senior at Chaparral High School, is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars and has traveled to many parts of the world as a People to People student ambassador. Fragosa is the freshman class president at La Sierra High School as well as a cheerleader. Robynne, who is home-schooled, is a Temecula’s Got Talent winner, performer with Temecula Valley Players and is also a DAR writing contest winner.


The evening pageant began with an opening dance number performed by the outgoing 2013 Inland California Court and contestants. The 18 contestants participated in a sportswear and evening gown competition, followed by an onstage question. That, in addition to the personal interviews conducted earlier in the day, determined who would be selected as Inland California queens for the ensuing year.


Earlier in the day, the children’s pageant crowned an additional four queens, including: Junior Miss Sarah Schumann, of Temecula; Little Miss Kaysee French, of Temecula; Pixie Miss Anastacia Castro, of Lake Elsinore; and Petite Miss Alyssa Anthony, of Murrieta.


During their reign the new Inland California court will be attending numerous community functions, Chamber of Commerce mixers, grand openings, parades and many philanthropic and charitable functions.
