Giada De Laurentiis gave new meaning to ‘finger licking’ when she sliced her finger on live TV.
Ouch! Food Network star Giada De Laurentiis gave a whole new meaning to slicing on Thanksgiving.
The TV chef cut her finger while slicing the turkey she'd just finished cooking on a live broadcast of her holiday special Saturday, reports Radar Online.
"She seemed to go pale and got very quiet putting pressure on it and whispering to Ina (Garten) that it was bad," a witness told the website. "She looked like she was about to faint."
De Laurentiis reportedly left right after the incident to seek medical attention for her injury and returned approximately 15 minutes later to continue with the broadcast, which has not been replayed since it's original airing.
Following the unfortunate slip, she posted an Instagram pic of the stomach-turning proof on her index finger.

‘Before & After.....an adjustment to my normal mani! #backtonormalin2wks #thanksgivinglive,’ posted Food Network chef Giada De Laurentiis, after injuring herself during the broadcast.
"Before & After," she captioned the photo showing the cut that ran along the side of her finger to her nail. "An adjustment to my normal mani! #backtonormalin2wks #thanksgivinglive"
Just hours before the accident, the 43-year-old celebrity chef posted a picture of her festive manicure.
"Festive #thanksgiving #nails!" she wrote.
De Laurentiis was joined by other famous cooks, Garten, Alton Brown, and Bobby Flay, for the Food Network special.
"#savegiada's finger," Brown joked on Twitter. "We did locate the end of Giada's left index finger in the stuffing. Rushing to hospital now."
The head chef in charge found humor in Brown's comments and responded retweeting his message with a smiley face as she was well aware that no part of her finger had actually fallen off. However, the cut was deep and definitely looked like it would hurt any food aficionado.
