Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are suing YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley for filming West proposing to Kardashian on Oct. 21 at AT&T Park in San Francisco, according to the New York Daily News.
Really -- the guy co-founded YouTube. They didn't think he was somehow going to take some video?
Guess not. Hurley posted the 2 1/2 minute clip to MixBit -- his new collaborative video app -- and tweeted it to his followers the next day. "So this happened last night. Congrats Kim & Kanye!" he tweeted, with a link to the video on his site.
Kardashian and West claim Hurley was not invited to the top-secret proposal party that West planned, according to TMZ. They say he somehow manipulated his way into the ballpark, then used the video to draw attention to MixBit. They say they allowed him to stay only after he signed a non-disclosure form and took a picture holding it.
"Hurley proceeded to try to turn the event into one starring himself, broadcasting the images he knew were the exclusive property rights of someone else," the suit says.
The video has been viewed by more than 1.6 million lonely, desperate souls.
The suit seeks unspecified damages and says the rights for what we can assume was an official filming of the event were supposed to go to MC Cable Television, which is an offshoot of Bunim/Murray and E!, which produces "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," TMZ reported.
