John Kerry isn’t what you’d call “street.” To the great detriment of his 2004 presidential campaign, the Boston Brahmin reeks of wealth, privilege, and political influence. So it was a little weird to see rapper Snoop Dogg hanging out with the Secretary of State at the White House. The two got together during an event honoring the 2013 Kennedy Center honorees. (Snoop performed a tribute to jazz great Herbie Hancock.) “Boss life. me n john kerry at d white house !!!” the rapper wrote, posting a video on Twitter and Instagram. Because the audio is muffled, it’s unclear what the pair talked about, but they parted with a fist bump and laugh.
