In the Doug Liman-directed sci-fi flick, the actor's Lt. Col. Bill Cage finds himself reliving his death in battle against an alien force over and over again.

Emily Blunt co-stars in the movie about a soldier trapped in a time loop, reliving his death over and over.
"You see this isn't the first time we've had this conversation," Cage says in a voiceover that opens the riveting two-minute, 30-second trailer.
But Cage manages to live in between being blown to bits on the battlefield in increasingly intense action set pieces — including spending quality time with Emily Blunt's mysterious Rita, who seems to hold some of the answers to his "Groundhog Day" predicament.

The Doug Liman-directed movie hits theaters on June 6, 2014.
"I'm not a soldier," protests Cage, despite being outfitted in a high-powered battle suit, complete with giant cannons.
"Of course you're not, you're a weapon," she replies.

Cruise's Bill Cage wakes up confused after another one of his deaths.
It may seem like Cruise himself has gone back in time — to this past April — when the 51-year-old actor last starred as a clone battling an alien enemy in "Oblivion."
Based on the novel "All You Need Is Kill" by Japanese sci-fi author Hiroshi Sakurazaka, "Edge of Tomorrow" hits theaters on June 6, 2014. Cruise's real battle may be against "The Fault in Our Stars," the adaptation of the popular young-adult novel, that opens on the same date.
