'Inside Llewyn Davis' Wins Best Picture From National Society of Film Critics - AceShowbiz

The Coen brothers' dramedy grabs Best Director, Best Actor and Best Cinematography, in addition to taking home the top honor.

"" wins big at National Society of Film Critics' 48th annual awards voting meeting held Saturday, January 4. Inspired by the autobiography of folksinger Dave Van Ronk, the drama comedy about the titular struggling musician in early 1960s Greenwich Village is named Best Picture of 2013.

Fifty-six members of the Society consisting of prominent movie critics from newspapers, magazines and other media outlets across the U.S. also pick the "Inside Llewyn Davis" helmers, the Coen brothers, as Best Director and the movie's male lead as Best Actor. The Film additionally wins Best Cinematography, thanks to Bruno Delbonnel's work.

Best Screenplay goes to director Richard Linklater & actors and for their screenwriting in "", while the Coen brothers share the runner-up position in the category. Best Actress is awarded to (""), Best Supporting Actor is (""), and Best Supporting Actress is ("").

"" misses the top spot in all categories, but the Steve McQueen-directed slavery drama still manages to get its actors and the second place in Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress categories. It additionally places third in Best Picture and Best Director categories.

The weekend meeting was dedicated to the memory of two members who died in 2013, Roger Ebert and Stanley Kauffmann.
