She's been busy travelling up and down Britain, promoting her new book, but Kimberley Walsh made a gap in her timetable to make a special appearance at Variety, The Children's Charity Annual Dinner.

And the 31-year old did it in sparkling fashion, wearing a pink strapless sequined dress designed by Tube Gallery for her performance at the event.

With vintage hairstyling to match, Kimberley's dazzling outfit certainly got as much attention as her singing on Saturday night at The Dorchester Hotel.

She was joined onstage by her former Shrek: The Musical co-star Dean Chisnall, who played the title character in the West End productions to Walsh's Princess Fiona.

And they certainly looked the dapper pair, with Dean's hair slicked back in an Erol Flynn fashion, while Kimberley brought a modern flair to her Katharine Hepburn-inspired deep side-parted 'do.

She also opted for dramatic make-up, wearing a very dark burgundy colour lipstick to with her smokey eyes.

And after regaling the audience with a few choice tunes, Kimberley must have enjoyed the rest of the night, as she sent a tweet at aprroximately 1.40am.

'Had a crazy day today it's safe to say I'm ready for my bed,' the former Girls Aloud star tweeted.

Variety's black tie event included an auction and sit-down dinner, and on the guest list were a bevy of famous faces including Coronation Street's Michelle Collins, Louis Spence and Dragon's Den star Duncan Bannatyne.

But before Kimberley arrived at the event, the singer - who is promoting her first autobiography A Whole Lot Of History - tuned into BBC One for Strictly Come Dancing.

The former contestant took to the Twitter to show her support to Pasha Kovalev, who she partnered with during her time on the show.

This time around, the Russian professional dancer is paired with Countdown's Rachel Riley, who has been training so hard, that she reportedly overslept and missed a breakfast TV appearance with her partner this week.
