DIMANI House of Fashion designer and founder Riddhi Damodar won the Kookai Emerging Designer of the year award and $1000 at the Fiji Fashion Week show on Friday night at the Vodafone Arena.


Mrs Damodar's Blossom range, which took a year to put together, included floral printed dresses, tops and skirts complimented by DIVA accessories, Pandora bracelets and labelled footwear.


Sixteen emerging designers showcased their collection which ranged from casual to trendy, evening wear to swimwear and resort wear.


Dimani House of Fashion ambassador Litia Waqainaweni was one of the 12 who modelled the range.


"I decided to take part in Fiji Fashion Week because I wanted to experience the show," Mrs Damodar said.


"How it is, the feeling of being surrounded by talented designers and knowing that you have certain criteria and standards to meet."
