Edward Norton took the "Saturday Night Live" stage for the first time Oct. 26. But he wasn't alone. Alec Baldwin and Miley Cyrus crashed the stage to offer the rookie host a few pointers.

While he's well known for his dramatic roles, Norton was determined to tap into his comedic side for the sketch comedy show. In fact, he's been preparing for 13 years.

"I feel ready. I did the work and I'm finally here standing on this legendary stage where so many other great actors have stood before me," Norton said before Baldwin made an impromptu appearance.

"Did someone say my name?" Baldwin, who has hosted the show 15 times, asked.

"I actually did not say your name," Norton replied.

Still, the "30 Rock" star launched into the "Alec Baldwin 'SNL' warm up for dramatic actors" giving Norton a tutorial on how to have a funny edge on the show.

He began by asking Norton to give his best take and the 44-year-old actor glared straight into the camera.

"Ok that's a great take," Baldwin quipped, "for 'American History X,' which you were hilarious in by the way."

Baldwin then proceeded to challenge Norton to impersonations of Ian McKellen, Woody Allen, and Woody Harrelson, of which he all mastered.

Miley Cyrus final advice to Norton was to stick out his tongue.

"Well played Edward, well played," Baldwin boasted. "The worst thing for an actor is to get inside his head. So I want you to talk to someone who has never once been in her head. Miley can you come out here?"

Cyrus, who hosted "SNL" in early Oct., appeared on stage and quickly plugged her "BANGERZ" tour before breaking down "Miley's three rules to hosting."

"One you got to have fun," she began. "Two you've got to keep your energy up. And three you've got to stick your tongue out like this."

She then gave her signature tongue-to-the-side pose before Norton got in on the fun and imitated her.

"Never do that again," Baldwin advised before adding, "I was worried the first time I hosted ... now 15 times later I have my own show on MSNBC."
