You can take the girl out of America...
But Scarlett Johansson, 28, proved you can't take America out of the girl - even when that girl is filming an action thriller in China.
Shooting a scene for her latest flick Lucy on Monday, Johansson wore a cowboy hat, heavy make-up, fluffy blonde hair and a leopard print jacket over a tight red and black dress.
Feline good! Scarlett Johansson, 28, looked every inch the blonde bombshell, wearing a leopard-print jacket to shoot her latest flick Lucy in Taipei, China on Monday
While the attire might be far from what someone living in the conservative country of China might usually wear, it seemed the perfect choice for Scarlett's character Lucy - a drug mule with superpowers.
The beautiful blonde could be seen running through scenes with a mystery male co-star, who was clad in a brown leather jacket, white T-shirt and dark jeans.
The bearded man also wore a straw cowboy hat, before Scarlett stole it and placed it firmly on her own head.
All American girl: Wearing a cowboy hat and garish colours, Scarlett didn't leave her US roots behind when she jetted into Asia
The actress, who was recently voted Esquire magazine's Sexiest Woman Alive for the second time, could be scene employing all her charms to bring her character to life, including flirting with her co-star and touching him on the chest.
However, the starlet looked shocked to find the silver briefcase her male companion had been carrying was suddenly manacled to her wrist with a pair of metal handcuffs.
According to the Taipei Times, the actress was filming in front of the Regent Taipei Hotel and will be until Thursday.
It was also reported that the film crew will be taking aerial shots of the Taipei 101 skyscraper, which was officially the world's tallest building until 2010.
Unusual plot: Scarlett plays Lucy, a drug mule who gains superpowers that help her stay one step ahead of her pursuer, played by Morgan Freeman
In the Luc Besson-helmed film, Johansson becomes superhuman when she is exposed to a designer drug and must use her new-found attributes to stay one step ahead of a professor who is hunting her, played by Morgan Freeman.
There was no sign of the Lost In Translation star's fiancé Romain Dauriac, but last week the couple were spotted enjoying a romantic evening out in Paris, where the actress has been based for several weeks of filming.
As a member of the lucrative Avengers franchise, the actress earlier this year shot Captain America: The Winter Soldier with Chris Evans and she will next co-star with Chris Hemsworth in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Lights, cameras, action! Filming for the Luc Besson-directed thriller took place around the Regent Taipei Hotel
Second time lucky! Scarlett is engaged to French journalist Romain Dauriac, who will become her second husband after she divorced actor Ryan Reynolds in 2011
