LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Angelina Jolie was presented with an honorary Oscar for her charity work at the Governors Awards on Saturday night, and the stunning star immediately thanked fiance Brad Pitt and their brood of six for their love and support.
“My family, my love — your love and support make everything possible,” Angelina – who brought Brad and eldest son Maddox along as her dates for the evening – said during her acceptance speech, after becoming the youngest winner of the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award.
“Mad, you and your brothers and sisters are my happiness and there is no greater honor than being your mom,” she continued, holding back tears.

The 38-year-old also credited her late mother, Marcheline Bertrand, with having instilled in her the importance of giving back. (Marcheline passed away in 2007, due to ovarian cancer.)
”[My mother] was very clear that nothing would mean anything if you didn’t lead a life of use to others,” she said. “I didn’t know what that meant for a long time.

“I came into this business young and worried about my own experiences and my own pain,” she continued. “To stand here today means I did as she asked. And if she were alive, she’d be very proud.”
Angelina – who wore a black Atelier Versace gown for the evening – also thanked Brad, saying, “My love, your support and your guidance make everything that I do possible.”
