Natalie Portman's character is not afraid to take action in Thor sequel, The Dark World, at one point slapping Tom Hiddleston's Loki in what's become an infamous shot.
Behind the scenes, the actress is getting ready to call, "action," as she prepares to direct her first film.
Speaking to reporters at a Cinema Society and Dior Beauty-hosted screening of Thor: The Dark World in New York on Wednesday night, Portman confirmed that she is working on her feature-length directorial debut.

Portman's also continuing her work as a producer with her Handsomecharlie Films banner.
Although she previously told Vogue that she wanted to use her company to create Judd Apatow-like films with strong female leads, Portman talked up her nonfiction projects at the New York event.
"We have a couple of documentaries going right now, one of which is Eating Animals, which I'm really excited about -- the documentary adaptation of Jonathan Safran Foer's book," she said.

Portman also praised her Thor co-star Chris Hemsworth, whom she noted she had a "giggling problem" with on set.
"Chris is just everything you could want in an actor," she told a group of reporters. "He's so good, talented, professional, kind, down-to-earth, just naturally charismatic ... He's wonderful to be around. There's an innate goodness in him that really ennobles the superhero character that he plays."
Although Portman was the only Thor castmember on hand, she was joined by Howard Stern, Nina Garcia, designer Rachel Roy and The Carrie Diaries' AnnaSophia Robb, among other stars.
