Billboard magazine has named Bruno Mars its Artist of Year for 2013. This year has been great for the "Locked Out of Heaven" singer. It was announced that he will be performing at halftime of the Super Bowl and his latest chart topping album, Unorthodox Jukebox, was released.

The Billboard

explained that even with breakout artists like Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Imagine Dragons, Mars deserved the honor because of his continuing rise to fame and the success of his latest album.

Star Pulse added that Unorthodox Jukebox had three chart topping singles on the Hot 100 charts, including, "When I Was Your Man," "Treasure" and "Locked Out of Heaven."

Mars is known for always writing and creating the songs that are featured on his albums. Nothing is handed to the "Grenade" singer to perform. Mars has a unique style all his own that has connected with fans all across the world.

Mars will not be slowing down in 2014, he will continue on his world tour in February with ten dates in Australia and New Zealand and will be planning an additional North American leg of the tour.
