Here's our daily wrap for Friday, December 6:


Legendary filmmaker, Jerry Bruckheimer is officially returning to Paramount. Bruckheimer announced in September he would be leaving Disney. This week, it was rumored he would be returning to Paramount, but it is now confirmed. Paramount Pictures Chairman and CEO Brad Grey and Bruckheimer announced his return in an official statement posted on Dateline. First on the agenda for the Pirates of The Caribbean filmmaker is a new Beverly Hills Cop for Eddie Murphy. There are also plans for a Top Gun 2 in which Tom Cruz will return.


The South African government has announced a funeral date for the first black president of South Africa, Nelson Mandela. Current South African president Jacob Zuma announced the country would celebrate the life of Mandela for the next ten days before he is laid to rest Dec. 15. in his home village, Qunu. The series of events will start off with a memorial service at Johannesburg’s FNB Stadium. Mandela passed away on Thursday at age 95.


A brutal ice storm has made its way through the Midwestern United States dubbing today “ice Friday” for some Texas areas, which first saw temperatures in the upper 80’s in the beginning of the week. The ice storm ranges from Ohio Valley all the way down to the Texas-Mexico border. As a result many are without power and 1,000 flights have been cancelled in Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.


Upon releasing their third album Midnight Memories, One Direction has made Billboard chart history after the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart, making them the first group in over 45 years to have their first three albums reach the No. 1 spot. It is reported that 546,000 “Directioners” purchased in its first week.


Paul Walker fans are clinging to all they can of their beloved Fast & The Furious star. Among those fans is Jameson Witty, 18, who has been arrested for allegedly stealing a part of the Porsche Walker died in on Saturday. Police are still waiting for an accomplice, who also stole a part of the t-top roof of the debris while it was being towed away on Saturday night, to turn himself in.
