Tessanne Chin shows off her vocal range while performing on The Voice during the semifinals on Monday (December 9) in Universal City, Calif.


The 28-year-old singer serenaded the crowd while a rendition of Simon and Garfunkel‘s “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”


“I nearly fell down I couldn’t believe that. At first, I saw a tweet by Adam Lambert and I’m such of huge fan of his, but Kelly‘s what started it all for us. I remember watching her in Jamaica win Idol and she’s the one that started, for me, this whole trend of why it’s a successful thing. To hear her say that and getting to sing one of her songs, it made me so humble,” Tessanne shared to JJ during a recording session last week about Kelly Clarkson declaring that she had the best vocal ever on the show.
