The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug stayed on top of the box office for a second week in a row, drawing an estimated $31.4 million, which brings its domestic total to $127.5 million, according to Box Office Mojo.


Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues got off to a relatively decent start, drawing $26.78 million over the weekend, failing to surpass the original Anchorman 's debut of $28.4 million in July 2004. Paramount is expecting the five-day gross to reach an estimated $40 million.

Disney's Frozen slipped a spot to No. 3 with $19.16 million in its fourth week in theaters. American Hustle followed in fourth place with $19.1 million, while Saving Mr. Banks drew $9.32 million.


Rounding out the top 10: The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (No. 6; $8.8 million); Tyler Perry's A Madea Christmas (No. 7; $8.5 million); Walking with Dinosaurs (No. 8; $7.3 million); Dhoom 3 (No. 9; $3.3 million); Thor: The Dark World (No. 10; $1.3 million).
