Juan Pablo Galavis is not messing around — he’s planning to get down on one knee at the end of the 18th season of “The Bachelor.”

But he’ll need to find his one and only in a batch of 27 ladies vying for his love.

The 32-year-old former "Bachelorette" contestant works through some nerves with Sean Lowe, of the 17th season of "The Bachelor," before meeting any of the contestants. The best advice Juan Pablo gets is to not kiss a girl in front of the others.

Juan Pablo gets reacquainted with the surroundings of “The Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” mega mansion. He stands out front as limos arrive, with each woman who emerges trying to make a memorable first impression.

Christine, 23, offers him a handmade bracelet for his daughter, Camila. Then he meets Nikki, the pediatric nurse from Kansas City, who lets him listen to her fast-beating heart through her stethoscope. He seemed impressed.

There were also strange entrances, such as that of Lauren S., who bicycled a piano into the swanky courtyard to play a classical prelude to their introduction — but was a little flat. She even forgot to tell him her name.

A lot of the women get lost in the mix; extended one-on-one time is needed to make a better first impression. The bachelor already seems to struggle to remember all 27 names — he seems overwhelmed.

But to lighten things up, Juan Pablo kicks the night off with a little dance party before getting to know some of the ladies better.

He seems to hit it off with Nikki the nurse. Renee, 32, opens up with Juan Pablo about her relationship with her 9-year-old son Ben’s father. They bond over being parents, and he thinks she’s “very, very cute.”

The strange encounters come with Lucy, the barefoot “free spirit,” and Amy J., the massage therapist from Los Angeles, who gets down to business right away during her first one-on-one and gives Juan Pablo a massage.

With that first impression rose on the table, some women start to fret that they haven’t had their time with their man.

Sharleen, 29, isn’t worried. Juan Pablo is immediately taken with her elegance, and they have a conversation about the languages they both know. Charlene has been living in Germany for the past three years, and discussed her struggles of trying to eat more vegetarian-friendly fare in a country where cuisine is so meat-centric.

Juan Pablo is really feeling this opera singer’s worldliness, culture and vibe, so he excuses himself for a moment.

But to the camera, Sharleen says that she thought she would feel more “insta-chemistry” than she did. She feels distraught because of the forced nature of their encounter. When she sees him bring the rose back, she says, “Seriously?” aloud.

To his question “Will you accept this rose?” she says, “Sure.” Awkward.

While she’s flattered by the gesture, what matters to her most is whether she feels something with Juan Pablo, and it’s still too early to tell.

I like this girl.

While Sharleen could rest easy during the rose ceremony, all the other ladies were noticeably on edge.

In the end, several unmemorable girls go home. The last girl to be saved is Amy L., the local TV news reporter. That means Amy J., the creepy masseuse, must go home. She's sad she put herself out there for nothing. Think they can stop referring to Amy L. with an initial now?

Kylie, who awkwardly went to claim a cast mate's rose when it wasn't her turn, also gets the boot.

Lauren is also sent packing. She probably shouldn't have unloaded her insecurities and baggage on Juan Pablo within the first few minutes of meeting him.

Who do you think has the best shot with Juan Pablo? My money is on Sharleen, if she doesn't leave the show before its over. The phoniness of the show's concept really seems to strike her. Has she ever watched "The Bachelor" before?
