Ke$ha has been admitted to a rehab facility to treat an eating disorder.
TMZ first reported the news that the "Timber" singer had checked herself into the Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center near Chicago, the same facility Demi Lovato entered in November 2010.
"I'm a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself, but I've found it hard to practice," Ke$ha, who has previously said that she is a vegetarian, said in a statement to People on Friday. "I'll be unavailable for the next 30 days, seeking treatment for my eating disorder ... to learn to love myself again, exactly as I am."
The singer gave fans an inside look at her life in the MTV docuseries "Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life," with season two drawing to a close on December 18. Her trip to rehab comes just one month before she is scheduled to perform in Dubai as part of her Warrior tour. In March and April, she's slated to perform a pair of North American shows in Hammond, Indiana, and Green Bay, Wisconsin.
On New Year's Eve, Ke$ha unveiled a new video for "Dirty Love" marking her directorial debut. One day later, she tweeted: "Cheers to this year being the best year ever. 2014 gon [sic] be the year of truth and freedom."
A previous MTV Europe Music Awards winner, Ke$ha last year was honored with a New Now Next Award for her single "C'mon," as well as a Genesis Award for raising awareness of animal issues.
