Looks like we won’t be waiting too much longer to feast our ears on Rihanna and Shakira ’s brand new collaboration, with both ladies taking to Twitter this week to confirm a January 13 release.

The track, titled ‘Can’t Remember to Forget You,’ is the first single from Shakira’s upcoming album, and it was actually Pitbull who first spilled the beans that the poptastic pair had joined forces.

In a radio interview last month, Mr. Worldwide revealed that he’d been trying to get the ‘Stay’ singer on board to record the hook on his recent single, ‘Timber,’ with Ke$ha , but she was unavailable due to her commitments with the Colombian songstress.

“The person we were looking at first to work on that record was actually Rihanna, and Rihanna had something she had to do with Shakira, so she wasn’t able to work on our record,” shared Pitbull, according to MTV News.

Shakira is set to return as a coach on the sixth season of ‘The Voice’ in February alongside Usher , Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera , while DJ Mustard confirmed last week that Rihanna has already begun work on her next album.
