Red carpet guru David Meister debuted his first HSN exclusive collection today on September 26. "David David Meister" includes an assortment of day, evening and cocktail dresses inspired by David’s signature looks and best sellers. Long recognized as one of the most well-respected figures in fashion, David understands how to masterfully present the feminine form in a way that flatters curves and embodies glamour. The consumer friendly collection ranges from $149.90 to $259.90 with elevated fabrics in warm colors.
Examiner.com had the opportunity to interview David today. Check out our interview below:
Q: So tell me about your HSN collection.
Meister: It’s my signature look, it’s all knits, all jerseys, all stretch. I’m a big believer that clothes fit many more women, more comfortable if it has knit or stretch in it. So it’s all about simple great classic looks. We’re doing a lot of dresses that really go from day to dinner. Great jersey dresses, great ponty dresses, and it’s all about how you accessorize them. You can wear them to the office; you can mix it up, you can make it work for cocktail. And I think that’s really key that the clothes are very versatile cause when you’re spending money on something you really wanna be able to wear it, you utilize it; throw a leather jacket over it you have one look. Throw some jewelry and a great sandal on, you got a cocktail look. So that’s key. It’s my fit, I’m kind of known as a great fit, my collection. It’s the same exact fit. We’re excited, this collection is made in the U.S.A, so we’re really excited that we’re still making it in the U.S.A. And we’re really reaching a wide range of costumers. It’s not about an age, it’s about a mindset. We’re doing a size 2 to 22, so you know, all women, all body types, all ages. Like I said it’s about how you accessorize it. Someone who’s 24 might take this dress and shorten it and rock it with a booty. Someone who’s 55 is going to wear it with a great pump and a beautiful cool bag.
Q: Tell me about some of the colors you chose.
Meister: Greens and blues, big for fall. Black of course because black is a classic. But fall is always about great jewel tones. We have the navy with black lace, we have grays. And then as we go into evenings we have sequence and metallic laces and a little bit of shimmer.And then we do have one gown for fall that we’re excited about. It’s a simple black jersey halter gown but it’s got built in jewelry with the tassel down the back. So it’s sort of like the jewelry, but it’s down the back.
Q: Tell me what has been the highlight of collaborating with HSN on this?
Meister: You know, they’ve been delightful to work with. We probably started about six or seven months ago, but they’re great to work with. We work quickly together and very well and it’s just a very comfortable relationship. Now we’re ready to take it to the next level and get it on the air and start selling these dresses.
