CBS remains the network to beat on Friday in total viewers, but the return of “Grimm” and the debut of “Dracula” led NBC to Friday demo victory. “Dracula” finished third in total viewers at 10 p.m., with 5.28 million. But it topped the hour in adults 18-49, with a 1.8 rating/6 share, and it ranked first in adults 25-54 and adults 18-34 with the second highest Friday night drama premiere in three years (behind a 2.1 rating in adults 18-49 for “Grimm” on 10/28/11). Comparably, retention for “Dracula” out of the “Grimm,” which was up by 13 percent in adults 18-49 from last fall’s Friday season-premiere, was 86 percent in total viewers and 100 percent in the demo. As expected, the compatibility between the two is flawless.

In season-premiere news, sophomore “The Carrie Dairies” on The CW was dead on return with just 837,000 and 0.3/ 1 among adults 18-49 at 8 p.m., which combined with 9 p.m. special ‘iHeart Radio Album Release Party with Katy Perry” resulted in what could be The CW’s lowest rated Friday night with original programming ever.

Elsewhere, “Blue Bloods” on CBS was the most-watched show of the evening, with 11.01 million viewers at 10 p.m. “Shark Tank” on ABC was tops, as usual, among adults 18-49 with a 2.0/ 7 at 9 p.m. “Junior Masterchef” is respectable time period filler for Fox at 8 p.m. And relocated “Hawaii Five-O” on CBS fits well out of “Undercover Boss” and into “Blue Bloods.”
