Hugh Jackman fans, you won’t be seeing him on Broadway anytime soon.

The actor has pulled out of the 2014 musical “Houdini” about the famed escape artist.

“I have greatly enjoyed the collaborative process on Houdini,” Jackman said in a statement reported by People.com. “Ultimately, though, I wasn’t able to commit to the time this role will require.”

Jackman told the Sun-Times in 2009 that the illusionist was an ideal subject for the stage: “Houdini was the original rock star who really interacted with an audience . . . a great magician, but an even better entertainer.’’

He played a magician in the 2006 film “The Prestige.”
