MICHAEL Jackson's three children have opened up about what life was like with their famous father in a new documentary produced by their grandmother, Katherine Jackson.

In Remembering Michael, several Jackson family members, including his kids Prince, Paris and Blanket, share their favourite memories about the legendary entertainer who passed away in 2009.

16-year-old Prince reveals that he was unaware of his father's fame for a long time, saying, "It took me until I was, like, six years old, to learn that his name was Michael Jackson."

"He was always 'Daddy' to me," Prince Jackson said.

Jackson fiercely protected his children's privacy, which 15-year-old Paris Jackson admitted wasn't always easy on them.

"We didn't know a lot of kids, like, our age," Paris said. "We were more secluded. We never really left the ranch that often."

Heartbreakingly, Jackson's daughter also revealed, "He promised me he would teach me how to moonwalk. He never got around to it."

Michael's father Joe, who had a strained relationship with his son, suggests in the documentary that the Billie Jean singer's youngest child, 11-year-old Blanket, is a future star.

"They say there'll never be another Michael Jackson, and I say, 'we already have one, but he just has to be trained.'"
