Albert Hammond, Jr. is a married man.
The Strokes guitarist and solo singer-songwriter announced on Twitter this week that he'd married his girlfriend, Justyna Sroka. He also reported delightedly that his new wife had taken his entire last name, suffix and all.
"Yeah...she kept the JR," he tweeted along with their stylish, informal wedding photo. "Haha she's JHJ I'm AHJ." He also revealed that Mrs. JHJ inspired his laid-back single "St. Justice" on his fall EP, AHJ (released on Strokes singer Julian Casablancas' Cult Records). The couple met while she was working at New York's French-Moroccan restaurant Cafe Gitane.
The rocker did sound inspired while discussing "St. Justice" with Rolling Stone in the fall. "It feels like the universe has just lined up for me to really take responsibility: 'If you want to do this thing, do it. Stop trying to hide behind things. Just do it and take the good and the bad straight up,'" he said. "I'm excited about that. I'm ready."
Hammond, Jr. will hit the road with Jake Bugg on a national tour in January.
