Jacquie Lee may have placed second on season-five of "The Voice," but she's determined to make a lasting impression on the music industry. After losing to Tessanne Chin on the singing competition, Lee is also setting her sights on a collaboration with a certain red-haired pop star.

The top 3 finalist found herself on Christina Aguilera's team after the pop diva turned her chair around for the teen during the blind audition phase. 16-year-old Lee's powerhouse performance of Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black" sealed the deal. Aguilera immediately took the petite Lee under her wing, touting her as a "protégé."

"That's insane," a giddy Lee told MTV News on Wednesday (December 18) about her coach's title for her.

Week after week, the young singer surpassed her own vocal feats, consistently taking on mature, dark songs beyond her years like "Spell On You" and "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going," sparking reactions from "Dreamgirls" star Jennifer Hudson herself and Lady Gaga.

"It's like you swallowed an old lady or something," "Voice" coach Cee Lo Green once told Lee, who has now decided to give her a voice a name: Berth Cee Lo Green. Just because.

"If I had a choice, I would [be starting] off a little more mature because it's always hard transitioning," Lee said.

Still, Lee is pushing forward with encouragement from Aguilera, with whom she shares a "really special connection." So much so that Xtina asked Lee to sing an impromptu "Happy Birthday" at the show's afterparty Tuesday night, as Aguilera kicked off her 33rd year.

Aguilera admitted on multiple occasions this season that Lee reminded her of herself at the same age and called her a "force to be reckoned with." Off-camera, the pop diva advised Lee to keep a journal, stay "grounded" and remember that it's "OK not to be OK all the time."

So while Lee shed tears after losing to Team Adam's Chin last night, Lee said they were "tears of joy." And reminding us that she's still a teenager at heart, she gushed over her guest mentor.

"I love Ed Sheeran, and so I'd love to do a collaboration with him," Lee said excitedly.

As for her plans for the future? "What's next is the holidays," she said, "But then it's just right back to work. ... I'm going to make a name for myself."
