QUINCY — A little warmth will come to Branch County Friday night and Saturday night as the stage at Tibbits Opera House is transformed into a Hawaiian paradise.




Friday night, 16 contestants will vie for the title of Little Miss Tip-Up Pageant 2014, and seven girls will compete for Little Miss Tip-Up Queen. The Little Miss Queen and her court will represent the community alongside the Tip-Up Pageant court during the annual festival Jan. 25-26 at Tip-Up Island in Quincy.




The Little Miss competition will kick off this year’s festivities, followed by the Tip-Up Pageant Saturday night. Friday’s Little Miss Pageant will begin at 7 p.m., Saturday’s Queen Pageant will begin at 8 p.m. Admission is $5 each night.




This year’s pageant is directed by Alicia Gross and co-directed by Sheena Spielbusch. All of the girls in the Little Miss Pageant are from Quincy Community Schools in grades kindergarten through fourth.




“They are a great group of girls I love working with them,” Gross said.




Friday’s pageant will begin with evening gown competition. The girls will also compete in a fashion show and final question competition. People’s Choice awards will be given out, along with Little Miss Princess and Little Miss Queen.




Kenadee Walls, 2013 Little Miss Tip-Up Princess and Madlynn Hayes, 2013 Little Miss Tip-Up Queen will also be on hand Friday night to take their final walk as princess and queen.




Little Miss Princess contestants include, Issabella Green, Kenady Smith, Lorelai Kugler, Kaylee Terris, Hayleigh Mosher, Gabrrielle Omo, Cortland Detrich, Abby Burritt and Alivia Avra.




Little Miss Queen contestants, Payton Gross, Anna Richer, Hailey Horn, Rheanna Meyer, Hailey Mohoney, Katelynn Smith and Abby Wheaton.




* Issabella Green, a kindergartner, is the daughter of Darin Graves and April Stollings. Her sponsor is Derek Pierucki, Ruth Stollings and Lynn Green. Her favorite food is tacos and she enjoys football and playing outside.




* Kenady Smith, a kindergartner, is the daughter of Jack Smith and Kimberly Clark. She is sponsored by Jules Home Crafts and family and friends. She enjoys Chinese food, playing soccer and enjoying time with friends.




* Lorelai Anne Kugler, a first-grader, is the daughter of J.R. and Tori Kugler. She is sponsored by State Farm Insurance (Steve Franks). Her favorite food is tomatoes. She enjoys cheerleading, riding her bike, playing on the monkey bars and doing cartwheels.




* Kaylee Terris, a first-grader, is the daughter of Cory and Kelly Terris. She is sponsored by Coldwater Orthodontics and A-1 Janitor. Her favorite food is chicken nuggets. She enjoys gymnastics and making cookies.




* Hayleigh Mosher, a first-grader, is the daughter of Michael and Jessica Mosher. She is sponsored by Laurel’s of Coldwater, Munchkin Land Daycare and Kiess Jewelry. Her favorite food is macaroni and cheese. She enjoys dancing and playing with her dog.
