Exhibitions showcase bridal, winter/fall collection

ISLAMABAD: Fashion lovers of the capital city are still enjoying the flavours of outfits’ exhibitions that started before Eid at the outlets of different designers who have presented a collection of latest designs and prints.

These exhibitions feature winter and bridal collections due to the fast-approaching winter season and the wedding season, which is on its peak. Ayesha Atta, a new designer, believes in innovation and her works reflect the use of a sensible fusion of colours in a blend of traditional and contemporary styles.

While talking to APP, she said, “I am a self-taught designer and have no formal training in fashion designing.

Big names in the fashion industry do not allow newcomers to grow – a phenomenon found in almost all fields,” she added.

She has arranged the exhibition of her new bridal and winter collection, featuring formal, semi-formal and party outfits, and attempted to merge ancient and modern elements in her creations. The styles and looks of the dresses made by her captured the essence of this change.

Nearly 50 outfits in chiffon, linen and Soosee were on display in the winter collection. Clothes ranging from modern to traditional reflected the tones of winter through their dark colours, while the bridal collection was the one to watch. With an affordable price range, the designer puts her creative skills to test and experimented with earthy tones, geometric patterns and traditional beadwork.

Her exhibition has already attracted several buyers, especially since the rates are immensely affordable, along with the quality of the cloth.

Similarly in Melange Boutique, a premier multi-label outlet founded by Samina Lakhani stocks a diverse range of Pakistan’s most sought after designer labels, all under one roof.

This Islamabad-based boutique maintains over 50 brands, and is serving as a single point, easy-to-access platform to meet fashion needs for all seasons, as well as bridal collections, including jewellery and accessories, for the modern style-conscious women.

Moreover, ‘L’atelier’ by Shaiyanne Malik, a leading fashion entrepreneur, is also offering a variety of women’s designer apparel and accessories under a one-stop-shop concept. As many as 43 local fashion designers have gathered under one roof for the convenience of shoppers.

Both these boutiques are actively hosting exhibitions, trunk shows and launches throughout the year to showcase the works of the designers.

A customer at ‘L’atelier’ said, “It is a channel where we can reach to the country’s top designers with their latest outfits all under a single roof.”

“Besides this, it offers fashion handbags, evening bags, fashion jewellery, fashion belts, hats, caps, scarves and shawls, hair accessories, fashion footwear, gloves and mittens, sunglasses and everything in fashion range. We do not need to go elsewhere,” she added. app
