Supermodel Miranda Kerr has access to all the most beautiful clothes and accessories in the world—but what jewelry does she love most? Pearls! "My relationship with jewelry all started with my grandmother's pearls," she says. "She has fabulous pearls and pearl earrings, and I thought they were super cool and very chic, and they weren't real, but she made them look real, just by the way she carried herself." [Telegraph]

The latest designer to create a custom bottle for Evian? Couturier Elie Saab. "I wanted to respect Evian as well as having my signature on the bottle, so I decided to make the design very transparent, so that you can see through to the purity of the water," Saab said. [Telegraph]

One costume designer speaks out this week on Hollywood's weight double-standard. "I've personally been asked at least nine times (that I can think of!) if an actress has 'gained weight' over the course of a series," she writes, "but I've actually never been asked the same question regarding a male actor." Thing I learned today that baffled me: Apparently, in Italy you're not allowed to pay in cash for anything that costs over 1,000 Euros! According to a report on CNBC, this law is hurting domestic luxury fashion sales. "Instead of let's say eliminating underground money, the Italians are going abroad to buy their goods," says one expert, who claims the government has lost out on more than 400 million Euros because of this legislation. The New York Times' Cathy Horyn reviews Lifetime's House of Versace —and hated it. "In moments, Ms. Gershon comes across as Donatella from New Jersey and not Milan," she writes. "Fashion is a great subject for film, or you would think. But so far, no one has been able to get beyond caricature." [NYT]

PSA alert! How do you know if you've over-filtered your photos on Instagram? Mashable has a handy-dandy tip sheet. My favorite is number three: "Every sunset looks like a Lisa Frank folder." [Mashable]
