I'm a huge fan of trench coats.

On my trip home to see my parents last week, Dad gave me one he's never worn — an off-white, barely gray trench that will be perfect to wear Tuesday, what with all this rain.

It's one of the best things about fall, in my opinion — not the rain, per se, but the opportunity to wear trench coats, which are probably my favorite type of outerwear.

Women will find several varieties at Kohl's, for example, with my favorites being a ruffled and pleated trench by Elle ($90), a plaid trench from Apt. 9 ($160) and a tan Dana Buchman one with black detailing.

Key to the Cure

Saks Fifth Avenue's big Key to the Cure charity shopping weekend will be Thursday through Sunday nationwide, with special events planned at the Tulsa store in Utica Square, 21st Street and Utica Avenue.

Among the local goings-on is a special Girls Night Out with hostess Bailey Austin from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, during which time patrons can view the fall collection of Vince The line's account executive, Danielle Kuperberg, will lead a presentation, and you can also enjoy champagne, sweet treats, a DJ and the Bobbi Brown beauty bar.

Other events Thursday through Saturday include showcases of Valentin Magro fine jewelry and Les Copains, which is partnering with Saks to support Oklahoma Project Woman

Also, designer Peter Dundas of Emilio Pucci created a limited-edition T-shirt exclusively to benefit Key to the Cure. All proceeds from the $35 tee go to the Entertainment Industry Foundation's Women's Cancer Research Fund, which benefits programs dedicated to finding new detection methods, better treatments and cures for women's cancers.

In the 14 years since the inception of Key to the Cure, Saks and its vendors and partners have raised more than $33 million for cancer research.
