In case you haven't heard yet, Maroon 5 frontman and "The Voice" judge Adam Levine is this year's Sexiest Man Alive, as declared by the editors at People magazine.
It's the kind of stance that pal Blake Shelton has long had about his co-star.
But we have to say... the choice feels a bit unconventional, given that their picks in the past included big-screen hunks like Channing Tatum, Ryan Reynolds and Bradley Cooper. The last of which sparked the great Bradley Cooper or Ryan Gosling debate of 2011.
Levine, of course, marks the first time a musician has topped the hot guy heap, so that's pretty cool. But is he really the sexiest guy of this past calendar year? MTV News makes a case for a few other hotties to take his place. Sorry, Adam.
Justin Timberlake
As it turns out, the pop star and actor has never been named Sexiest Man Alive, which is shocking considering his big 2013. He dropped two chart-topping albums after a long music hiatus, pulled off a stellar 'NSYNC reunion at the VMAs and has all those Tom Ford suits at his disposal.
Chris Hemsworth
Australian? Check. Buff? Most definitely. Knows how to use his "Thor" hammer to top the box office? Yep. (And we didn't even mean that as a double entendre.) If that's not reason enough to be this year's Sexiest we're not sure what the criteria is. Sorry, Liam. One day it will be your time to shine.
Pharrell Williams
Miley Cyrus, "Get Lucky," "Blurred Lines," his overall swagger. Enough said.
Aaron Paul
Not only was he the star of the successful series "Breaking Bad," he lent his vocals to something called "Dance Bitch," which granted him besties status with Britney Spears. If he's good enough for Brit, who are we to deny his power?
Kendrick Lamar
Who could forget that "Control" verse? Heck, he's not just the "king of New York," he's also the kind of our hearts and cute enough to top this year's Sexiest list.
Michael Fassbender
He's the kind of guy that can tackle dark material like "12 Years A Slave" and "The Counselor." He's willing to strip down naked for his art. Oh, yeah, and he's Magneto. Did we mention he's been naked on the big screen?

Tom Hiddleston
He's the most charming bad guy to grace the big screen in a long time. The "Thor" star always has us swooning, even when we're getting Loki'd. And, he finally jumped on the vampire bandwagon in "Only Lovers Left Alive." We'd definitely spend eternity with this guy. Or, at the very least, name him the hottest dude of 2013.
