Miranda Lambert made an entrance at the CMA Awards Wednesday in Nashville, Tenn., when she showed off her slim silhouette.
The 29-year-old country singer looked striking in a dress that amply highlighted her new figure: a curve-hugging cobalt gown with plunging décolletage and cinched waist.
Completing the look? Her best accessory of the evening: dashing husband Blake Shelton, who clutched his missus as she beamed for the cameras.
Lambert has been giving fans ample chances to ogle her new look. The night before, she stepped out at the BMI Country Awards – also in Nashville – where she wowed in a chic little black dress.
After taking home the award for female vocalist of the year toward the end of the night, Lambert entered the press room.
"I've been working out, but this thing is heavy!" she said of her new award.
And as for her new figure? She attributes it all to her desire to age gracefully.
"I just feel like I needed to get ahead of the game – I'm going to be 30 on Sunday and people say, are you OK about turning 30 and I guess I am, but I guess I’m not because I feel like everybody always says 'It goes downhill from there.' So I just thought, maybe if I get ahead of it a little I won't have to work so hard later in life," she explained.
"All through my 20s I worked a lot – I was on the road since I was 17 and the road life is a lot of fast food and a lot of late nights and a lot of drinking – I didn’t give up drinking. I refused. You have to drink to put up with my husband! Just kidding! But I just felt that I should get a little more healthy and I have a record coming out in the spring and it’s a very important album to me – it’s my fifth album – and I have this spot, I found a great spot in country music and I want to keep it," she added.
She continued, "I want people to know that I care – that I found my niche and I care about it in all aspects, musically and my songs that I write and what I talk about and I want to look the part too. So just finding a new spot in my life and working hard. I didn’t give up really a lot really. Just Cheetos mostly! But I might have some tonight, just to celebrate."
