Netflix has released a two-minute teaser trailer for the upcoming second season of the hit show House of Cards.
The trailer features scenes of both the upcoming season mixed in with some from the previous. Throughout it all, viewers are treated with a Kevin Spacey voice-over narration, E! News reports. In between narration, there is overly dramatic music thrown in for good measure.
"The road to power is paved with hypocrisy." Then Spacey dryly adds, "and casualties."
Netflix outlined that the second season of House of Cards will continue to follow Francis and Claire as they deal with new threats as they look to increase their power in Washington, D.C. Scenes from the trailer show Kate Mara's Zoe Barnes haunting Francis' steps, and definitely continues the ruthless feel of the first season.
The teaser, which is sure to have any fan amped up for the show to return already, ends with Spacey calmly uttering, "And the butchering begins."
House of Cards is set to return on Valentine's Day, 2014.
The Netflix show made it onto the American Film Institute's Awards list as one of the top 10 shows of 2013. The drama was also nominated for a Writer's Guild award.
