UK's Jaime crowned Miss Scuba International


Kota Kinabalu: It was a night of glitz, glamour and surprises as United Kingdom Miss Scuba International Ambassador Jaime Lee Faulkner was crowned Miss Scuba International during the Miss Scuba International 2013 Final Gala Dinner held at Sutera Magellan, here, on Friday.


Jaime was crowned by last year's Miss Scuba International Jamie Piyada Monmaneerat from Thailand in front of over 600 guests at the gala event.


She was chosen out of the five top ambassador finalists from Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, United States and United Kingdom from 15 hopeful ambassadors from different countries worldwide, including for the first time ambassadors from Australia, Ireland, Japan, Kenya, Turkey and Ukraine.


Miss Scuba International 2013 second runner-up was United States Ambassador Chanel Alexandra Hason while first runner-up was Philippines Ambassador Christine Paula Bernasor.


Jaime also received the Best Congeniality Award, while Malaysia Ambassador Allyson Liew won the Best Evening Gown Award.


United States Ambassador Chanel Alexandra Hason won the Best Diver and Marine Conservation Award, Indonesia Ambassador Nadhira Ulya Suryadi won the Best Traditional Costume Award, Thailand Ambassador Kirataya Potisarn won the Best Talent Award and Japan Ambassador Ayaka Fukumo won the Best Photogenic Award.


The country ambassadors participating in this year's competition are from Australia, Singapore, China, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Malaysia, Kenya, Latvia, Philippines, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, United States and United Kingdom.


Also present was Minister of Tourism Culture and Environment Datuk Masidi Manjun and Miss Scuba International Founder and President Robert Lo.
