London Fashion Week just wrapped up its uber-stylish spring-summer rundown of the best for catwalk this season, and we scoured the best design talents making noise and creating retail character that is bound to be “season-immune” for a while.

Cristina Sabaiduc

After interning at Carolina Herrera, learning craft and attention to detail in evening and day wear, studio-hunting brought her to meet with photographer Jo Holland with whom she has been designing scarves with digital prints for the past three seasons.

Her SS 14 collection in luscious silk and nylon was inspired by an exhibition of glass artifacts of medieval churches at Victoria and Albert Museum (V & A).

DESIGN INSPIRATION: I saw these fragments eight months ago at V & A…beautiful reds and greens and they were stunning. We were in talks with V & A for eights months and they said yes. We were lucky.”

CREATIVE PROCESS: “Its all about research, inspiration can come at any point. I’m always interested in new fabrications, different fabrics to print on. It’s all just nerdy research at times—but fun.

Emilio De La Morena

Emilio De La Morena is a Spanish designer based in London, and known for his minimalistic and understated chic cuts and sculptured designs.

SS 14 COLLECTION: This season is softer. The collection is based on a poem that I kind of wrote/ kind of stole. I went to Spain to take my nephew and I found a poem I wrote about this boat on a harbor and a relationship going from one stage to another. There are lots of influences about water and a woman who has to change, and it’s very sexy.

Jacqueline Cullen

Jacqueline Cullen, is one of the few jewelry designers working with Whitby Jet, an ancient fossilized gemstone she discovered in her third year while studying at St. Martins. She incorporates the stone with 18k gold and black and champagne diamonds. We totally love goth-chic!

LOVES: Going to a lot of exhibitions. I love the V & A and the British museum. We’re lucky here in London, we’ve got so much rich culture and it’s so accessible.

DESIGN INSPIRATION: I’m not a seasonal jeweler that this month I’ll be inspired by butterflies or by apples. It’s fairly consistent rather than evolving.

JANE CARR

Jane took the classic path of going to St. Martins, then interning at Versace. She then started her own eponymous label designing scarves and gloves. She produces a riot of colors but don’t be fooled.

SS 14 WOMEN’S COLLECTION: It’s called Fireflies…it’s almost like a burning man festival but luxury. So the idea is that it’s almost like a chaos of prints.

SS 14 MEN’S COLLECTION: Kiss Me Quick—inspired by the English seaside.

SIGNATURE—Color, definitely. We use very loud color, but it doesn’t kill skin tone, that’s our signature.

ADA ZANDITON

Graduated from the London College of Fashion and decided at the age of 6 to become a fashion designer. This season’s collection is inspired by a trip to Sri Lanka borrowing from sea turtles, beautiful beaches and truck art.

ELEMENT: I like chic, fun and color. I love monochrome but I also really love color.

SS 14 WOMEN’S COLLECTION: Rectangular zero-waist dresses in organic cotton and silk. Expect leather and faux hair. Easy to wear, yet elegant and sophisticated.

The last part of the ranges are classic trench coats from end of line Burberry and vintage Chanel fabrics. Very sculptural.
