Gino Velardi (GV) Fashion Show

One of Denver's favorite sons, Gino Velardi will be presenting his signature designs at a fundraiser to offset his medical bills. The show will be held at Exdo Event Center with a cocktail reception, a Gino Velardi Retrospective, and a chance to win a custom cocktail dress.


Thursday, October 3: 6 p.m. reception, 7:30 p.m. fashion show. Tickets $35 for general admission, $55 for front row; purchase at gvfashionshow.eventbite.com.

Colorado Fashion Week 2013 (CFW)

Back for its third year, CFW has several events -- both private and public -- that begin on October 1. The mission of CFW and its founder and creative director, Justice Kwesi Kwarteng, is to bring together the multi-talented fashion community from across Colorado in order build an economically sustainable and respected fashion industry in Colorado. To that end, CFW 2013 will be hosting a town-hall meeting and panel discussion regarding the "business of fashion," and a Masters of Hair and Make-Up Artistry Fashion Runway Show, Friday, October 4 at the Walker Fine Art Gallery. The main fashion show will be held on Saturday, October 5 at the Oxford Hotel, with a trunk show by MAI Couture on Sunday, October 6 at Envogue Salon.

Frock Shop

Frock Shop founder Katie Gartner found a way to connect unique, often one-of-a-kind samples from designers and boutiques with loving shoppers. Frock Shop returns with a two-day event bringing favorite local designers under one roof at the Fashion Denver headquarters. The designer fashions will be drastically reduced at 50-80 percent less than the original price. Participating designers Goldyn, Blush, JM Designs, Nest, Mona Lucero, Stephanie O Designs, Vicky Krabill, Audrey Marie, Anna Be, Rae Marie, Token Threads, LamanBlu, FreeRavin, and Janie G. will be featured.

AWKWRD Clothing for the Socially Challenged

As a part of their monthly Civilized Living event series, Fancy Tiger Clothing will be hosting a launch party for AWKWRD, a Denver-based fashion brand whose line is all locally made, from the artist to manufacturing. AWKWRD, the brainchild of Brian Wilkens, will unveil its line of leggings made from custo- printed textiles designed by one of his favorite artists, Debbie Clapper.

Youth Biz Bash Fashion Show

Youth Biz, known for its mission to advance social and economic prosperity of youth through its entrepreneurship program, is also known for getting Denver's high-profile community entrepreneurs to take to the runway for the Youth Biz cause. This year, more than twenty of Denver's business and community leaders will model attire of their own choosing; don't miss Jennifer Wilde, Dr. Gregory Buford, Jung Park and Mark McIntosh strut their stuff on behalf of Youth Biz.
